Prachin Buri Province
Prachin Buri, whose name translates as 'City of the East', is an eastern Thai province covering 5,026 square kilometres between the Bang Pakong River valley and the forested plateaus of the Sankamphaeng Range. The province had a population of about 500,607 in 2024.

The province is geographically divided between a low-lying alluvial plain in the west drained by the Bang Pakong River and mountainous highland terrain in the east, where approximately 28.6 percent of the province remains forested. Khao Yai National Park and Thap Lan National Park both extend into the province; together they form part of the Dong Phayayen–Khao Yai Forest Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Prachin Buri borders Nakhon Ratchasima to the north, Sa Kaeo to the east, Chachoengsao to the south, and Nakhon Nayok to the west. The Prachinburi National Museum houses significant artefacts from Khmer and Dvaravati civilisations that once flourished in the region. The Abhaibhubejhr Hospital, a pioneering Thai herbal medicine facility based in the provincial capital, is nationally recognised.
