Ko Phangan
Ko Pha-ngan is an island in the Gulf of Thailand, 15 kilometres north of Ko Samui in Surat Thani Province, covering approximately 168 square kilometres of forested mountains and white-sand beaches. It is internationally famous as the venue of the monthly Full Moon Party at Hat Rin beach.

Ko Pha-ngan together with Ko Tao and several minor islands forms the Ko Pha-ngan District, with the main settlement at Thong Sala on the southwest coast. The interior of the island is dominated by steep forested hills rising to roughly 600 metres, while the coastline is indented with coves including the popular Haad Thong Nai Pan, Haad Khuat (Bottle Beach) and Haad Yao. King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) visited the island fourteen times during his reign, and the waterfall bearing his name — Than Sadet — is protected within a national park. The island receives approximately 458,000 visitors per year and the economy relies heavily on tourism, particularly the Full Moon Party which draws tens of thousands of revellers each month to Hat Rin's Sunrise Beach. Regular ferry services connect Ko Pha-ngan to Surat Thani, Ko Samui and Ko Tao throughout the day.
