Nakhon Nayok Province

Nakhon Nayok is a small central Thai province about two hours east of Bangkok, celebrated for its mountain scenery, waterfalls, and proximity to Khao Yai National Park. The province covers 2,141 square kilometres and encompasses terrain ranging from forested highlands to a fertile central river plain.

The northern zone of the province rises into the Sankamphaeng Range, where Yod Khao Kiew peak reaches 1,292 metres, and approximately 30 percent of the province's land area remains under forest cover. Khao Yai National Park, Thailand's oldest national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, extends into the province's northern reaches. The Khun Dan Prakarn Chon Dam, one of Thailand's longest roller-compacted concrete dams, sits amidst scenic mountains and is a popular weekend destination for Bangkok residents. Sarika Waterfall and Nang Rong Waterfall are among the most visited natural attractions. The province had a population of around 259,770 in 2024 and borders Saraburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, Prachinburi, Chachoengsao, and Pathum Thani provinces.
