What “Verified” means on FFThai

A badge is only worth something if you know what it certifies. Here is exactly what a business has to clear before it carries ours — and what we deliberately do not claim.

What every verified business has cleared

Verification is not just an identity check. We check that a business is real, legal to trade, and holds to service standards foreigners can rely on.

  1. 1

    Service quality and reliability

The business commits to published standards: it shows up, honours what it quotes, and delivers the service it advertises. Repeated failures on these points cost the badge.

  2. 2

    Foreigner-friendly service

Staff can serve you in English (or your language, where stated), and the business is willing to explain terms, scope and price clearly before you commit.

  3. 3

    Fair, transparent pricing

Prices are the same for you as for a Thai customer. Dual pricing is grounds for removal. Where a fair-pricing pledge is shown, the business has signed it explicitly.

  4. 4

Legal identity and right to trade

We confirm the business exists as a real registered entity at a real address, with the licences its category requires — and we re-confirm it, not just once at signup.

  5. 5

    A real, contactable owner

A named person is accountable for the listing and reachable through us. If something goes wrong, there is someone to answer for it.

You cannot buy a better position

Ranking is on merit. No business can pay to appear higher, to outrank a better-rated competitor, or to have a review removed. Being an early or Founding Business means a listing is there from launch — it never buys a better position. Where a placement is ever paid for, it is labelled as such.

Where each detail comes from

Alongside the badge we publish structured details about a business — prices, credentials, terms. Some of those we check ourselves. Some the business tells us and we have not checked yet. Every value is labelled, so you always know which one you are reading.

  • Checked by FFThaiWe have seen the evidence ourselves — a document, a published price list, or a confirmation direct from the business — and recorded when we checked it.
  • Provided by the businessThe business told us this and we have not checked it yet. It is still useful and it is still on the record, but it carries no more weight than the business saying it.

When you compare two businesses, the same detail may be checked for one and self-reported for the other. We show both, labelled differently. An unchecked claim is never presented with the authority of a checked fact.

Why our reviews cannot be faked

The most common complaint we heard while building FFThai was a business with glowing reviews and terrible service. So we made it structurally impossible to post a review without proving you were actually a customer.

  • You can only review a business after you redeemed one of its deals, or checked in at its location — the platform will not accept a review without one of those.
  • Check-ins are confirmed against your GPS position at the business, so a check-in cannot be faked from a keyboard.
  • Businesses cannot buy, post, delete or edit reviews. They can only reply publicly, and their reply is labelled as theirs.

This is enforced in the platform itself, not by moderation policy. Every review shows how its author qualified to write it.

What verification does not mean

We would rather tell you the limits than have you over-trust the badge.

  • It is not a guarantee of outcome. A verified business can still have a bad day, and a verified professional can still be wrong.
  • It is not a substitute for your own due diligence on high-stakes work — legal, medical, financial. Read the terms, and get the scope in writing.
  • It is not a licence check we perform in place of the regulator. Where a profession is licensed, we confirm the licence exists; we do not supervise the professional.

How we keep it honest

Verification is reviewed on an ongoing basis, not granted once and forgotten. Sustained complaints, dual-pricing reports or a lapsed licence get a listing suspended or removed. If a verified business let you down, tell us — that report is how the standard stays real.
